My name is Dennis McDonald and I’m a candidate for Montana’s lone seat in the U.S. Congress. Over the last several months I have traveled to all 56 counties in the state speaking with folks and listening to their concerns. I have to say that I have never before seen the level of angst in the eyes of Montanans that I am witnessing during this campaign.Posted Jun 14, 2010
Montanans’ fervent defense of their right to privacy, a fundamental human right that is strongly protected in our state’s Constitution, is something that sets us apart from other states. Like our vast geography, stunning landscapes, and independent way of life, this right defines us and makes us proud. For example, I applaud the Missoula City Council for the recent passage of its non-discrimination ordinance and I hope that other Montana cities will follow suit.Posted Jun 14, 2010
After the wrenching collapse of the Bush–Cheney, house-of-cards economy, it’s clear to many that America’s economic landscape has changed, probably forever. Looking back, it’s almost humorous now to think that we ever confused the Republican administration and Congress that was responsible for this debacle with the party of economic restraint.Posted Mar 05, 2010
Read the rest in the Missoulian:

Rancher Dennis McDonald filed Thursday as a Democrat for the U.S. House, pledging not to vote one way in Washington while saying something different in Montana — as he accused Republican U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg of doing.
McDonald, 66, who raises cattle and horses at a ranch near Melville in Sweet Grass County, paid his $1,740 filing fee on the election season’s opening day.

McDonald stopped in Missoula to talk about everything from health care and the economy to education. He says Montana needs to support ordinary people instead of what he calls greedy Wall Street bankers.

The House considered estate tax relief for farmers, ranchers and small businesses. Congressman Rehberg voted NO. Once again the Rehberg politics of NO appeared.

“Tonight the President made some comments that will breathe a sigh of relief to many Montana families. The fact that the Afghanistan war will start to come to an end in eighteen months means that families will become whole again. Sons and daughters will return home and mothers and fathers will start to feel whole.”
