Rancher Dennis McDonald filed Thursday as a Democrat for the U.S. House, pledging not to vote one way in Washington while saying something different in Montana — as he accused Republican U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg of doing.
McDonald, 66, who raises cattle and horses at a ranch near Melville in Sweet Grass County, paid his $1,740 filing fee on the election season’s opening day.

Dennis McDonald is hitting the campaign trail. McDonald is running against Denny Rehberg for Montana's lone seat in Congress.
McDonald stopped in Missoula to talk about everything from health care and the economy to education. He says Montana needs to support ordinary people instead of what he calls greedy Wall Street bankers.

McDonald stopped at the mill to show his support for the workers affected by the closure.
He say's he's running to prevent closing like this from happening in the future.

Dennis McDonald, a candidate for Congress, announced his all-Montana campaign team Friday, which includes Butte native Eddie Zimpel.
Zimpel will serve as Western Regional Field Director. Zimpel is currently attending the University of Montana and has previously worked on Max Baucus' re-election campaign and Barack Obama's presidential campaign in Billings.
