Education

We talk a lot about natural resources in Montana. The truth is, though, our greatest resource is not our stunning mountains or our beautiful woodlands or our picture-perfect rivers and streams.

It’s our children.

We have a fundamental obligation to provide them the best education possible so they can reach their full potential and ensure them a bright future in Montana. This means we have to provide them with the educational materials and qualified teachers needed to empower them in an increasingly competitive  and fast-changing world.

To do this we need to work with our communities and the teacher's union to shape a world class education for our students.  We have tremendously dedicated teachers and we need to find a way to compensate them accordingly.

Cutting corners on education not only undercuts the teachers we’ve entrusted with shaping our children’s minds, it also shortchanges our children’s ability to succeed.  As your congressman, I will give education the critical attention it deserves and work toward making Montana’s public education system a model for other states to copy.

Education is an investment in our children’s future.  We need to make sure we do it wisely.
